Award-Winning Meteorologist Amy Sweezey Releases New Children’s Book

With one eye still tracking the tropics as another historic hurricane season comes to an end, award-winning meteorologist Amy Sweezey  (WESH-TV) has released her highly-anticipated second children’s book, Let’s Talk Weather, TV Forecasting: Behind the Scenes. The nonfiction, hardcover science book, geared to children ages 8-12, gives kids a first-hand look at how broadcast meteorologists gather information and work to keep people safe during dangerous weather.

The 32-page book with illustrations by Orlando designer Amanda Bardwell, takes a fun approach to teaching children how to determine if the weather will be hot or cold, sunny or cloudy, and why the weather is constantly changing.

“The idea for Let’s Talk Weather originated from my many visits with school kids,” said Sweezey. “I took their questions about weather and put them into a fun, colorful presentation, with answers that are easy to understand.”
